Chain families
A chain family is one decoder
plus the sources that feed it.
Selector keys, spec payloads, cursor units, source.config, and source
trade-offs are owned by that family. Shared concept pages describe ports
and catalogs; they do not enumerate families.
Each family has one page in this directory. Adding a family adds a page
here, a crate under Workspace map, and a
feature flag on embed and the binary. It does not rewrite Selectors,
Modules, Delivery, or the glossary.
Extending to a new
network is the
contributor checklist; this directory is what an operator reads once the
family exists. A write-time SpecImporter is optional per family and is
documented on that family’s page when it exists.
The running binary’s module list is GET /catalog, not this directory.
What a given family’s modules cost, which selector keys they admit, what
source.config they accept, and what turning their feature off removes,
is on the family’s page.
